Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and financial support. I am ever mindful of the sacrifices others have made, and continue to make, in order for my family to take the Gospel to Uruguay. It is truly humbling to know that so many prayers are regularly offered on behalf of my family and our work. The past months have given us cause for great joy as we have seen several new supporters bless us with their gifts and prayers. Because we are getting so close to our goal, it is becoming very hard to remain patient and wait for God to bring in the remainder of our needed support. There is such a great need in Uruguay right now. If I could leave tomorrow, I would arrive in that country “elbow-deep” in evangelism and discipleship from my first day on the ground. With that in mind, I would like to quickly take this opportunity to ask you to prayerfully consider a regular monthly gift to our ministry. Currently, it would take only a few more churches and individuals to push us to our financial goal. We would consider it a great honor to count you among our partners in the ministry, particularly in these difficult economic times.
The months of August and September saw our family travelling close to home in North Carolina and South Carolina. We are blessed to live in an area of the country with many good churches that are willing to permit us to share our burden for the lost in Uruguay. In one case, we were taken on for support during the service. It is always such an encouragement to see God put an immediate burden on a church for the work in Uruguay. Following each service, we have been encouraged by great fellowship around our display table. After almost three years on deputation, I know that such fellowship is a vital part of God’s plan for us. It is hard to become discouraged when so many of God’s people are so excited for the work to which God has called us. On that note, I wanted to say a very special “thank you” to each and every person who has sent letters and cards of encouragement to our family. You will never know how greatly we appreciate each of you.
We still need your prayers, of course. Please pray that God will quickly bring in our support, and also that he will continue supplying for our outfit and passage expense. Please pray for the work in Uruguay. I recently received a phone call from our partners there. God has blessed in abundance, and there is much work to be done. There is a great need for laborers. Pray for us as we travel. The next few months include a number of long trips to meetings and services. We need God’s protection on the road. Also, pray that God will work in those services and use us to minister to those in attendance. We offer praise to the Lord for His goodness to us. He has met our every need and continues to build our faith as we travel. We thank Him for our new supporters, and for each new meeting we are able to schedule.
In Christ’s blessed service,
Scott, Mary, Esther, Benjamin, and Daniel Clark
